Kristian Hagerup (b. 1989) is a Norwegian artist who lives in Oslo and mainly works with oil paint. In his paintings, you often see motifs taken out of their usual context and put into new contexts. He likes to combine hard, abstract forms with carefully painted, sometimes photorealistic, details. With this, Hagerup challenges us to reflect on the relationship between the depicted motifs, and the distinction between representation and abstraction.

He has graduated from Christiania Kunstakademi in Oslo. His motives often depicts of humans in uncomfortable situations , either physicaly or by the contemporary times around them have changed.

Kristina has previously held an exhibition at SKOG called “Cornucopia”. More information about the exhibition can be found here.
